Question: In Bhagavad-gita and many places, Srila Prabhupada has mentioned that we should act under the direction of the Supersoul situated within. How to understand the direction of the Supersoul within? How can we tune in to realize the form of the Lord he mentions is present within and is it necessary to first realize the Supersoul before approaching Krsna or Supreme Brahman? Also please tell me how to understand what Krsna, sat cit ananda form wants us to do in cases we are given free will.

Jayapataka Swami: Since in our conditioned state we cannot see the Supreme Personality of Godhead or the Supersoul within, therefore Krsna comes before us as guru, so that He can direct us what to do. The guru only speaks from sadhu, sastra and guru. What he heard from his guru, what he read in the sastra and what he has seen in the lives of great souls as described in the scriptures. So in this way one will naturally know what is to be done and what is not to be done. And it is said that the devotee they have a conscience, and that conscience is telling them what they should do and what they shouldn’t do. If you have any doubt, our conscience is telling us not to do something, we shouldn’t do it unless we confirm with guru it is alright. If we cannot connect to our guru, then some senior devotee or siksa guru may do and then we confirm with our guru diksa or siksa, as soon as we can.
