How Can We Help?

Question: Dear Guru Mahārāja we have heard that Lord Gaurāṅga gave more mercy in South India after His sannyāsa than when He was in Navadvīpa before sannyāsa. But in our temples we worship Lord Gaurāṅga’s form before sannyāsa. What is the reason we worship Lord Gaurāṅga’s form before sannyāsa, though His sannyāsa form is apparently more merciful?

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu was very merciful in Navadvīpa, but we don’t like to see Lord Caitanya doing austerities. We need to do austerities but He does not need to do it. So, He gives mercy to Māyāvādīs and other persons that he did not bother in Navadvīpa. He converted Māyāvādīs into devotees in South India but in Navadvīpa He did not say anything to the smārta-brāhmaṇas. But we don’t like to see Lord Caitanya doing austerities that is why we worship Him as a gṛhastha.
