How Can We Help?

Question: You said we should not grieve for the departure of any material body when we know the soul is still there, but still being in Kṛṣṇa consciousness we shed tears and mourn for any material departure of near and dear ones. Please suggest how can we make ourselves understand those circumstances?

Jayapatākā Swami: If someone is a Vaiṣṇava, we feel separation. If they are not a Vaiṣṇava or otherwise we would like to do something like pinda dana or something else to relieve the soul. So we know that the soul is still alive so, if they died in Kṛṣṇa consciousness then we are happy that they went to the spiritual world. We may feel some separation, but we don’t mourn like the materialists do. Before Nārada Muni revealed where Yudhiṣṭhira’s uncles and aunty went, he first gave this spiritual advice. So, if we read this verse again and again and understand the meaning, then that can help us to deal with these situations.
