Mukham karoti vacalam pangum langayate girim

Paramananda Madhavam Sri Caitanya Isvaram

We read how Lord Caitanya met with Lord Nityananda, and then happily the two were going around Navadvip with devotees, and Lord Caitanya had Srivas chant some verses from the Srimad Bhagavatam, which were describing the beautiful features of Krsna, and Lord Nityananda became mad in ecstatic love of Krsna! He was exhibiting various signs of spiritual ecstasy. Sometimes He roared so loud that it was penetrating the whole universe and the devotees, they held their ears and they thought their ear drums would burst! Sometimes Nityananda would fall down, sometimes He would jump high in the air! So that we experienced yesterday. Lord Gauranga glorifies Nityananda Prabhu today. Haribol! How are you? How was your Nrsimha Caturdasi?

Caitanya Bhagavat:

Again and again, His happiness constantly increased and it was uncheckable. Everybody tried to hold Him but no one was able to.

Although all the vaisnavas were unable to hold Nityananda Prabhu still, Viswambhar personally took Lord Nityananda in His arms!

As soon as Lord Nityananda was taken on the lap of Viswambhar, He surrendered His life and He became motionless!!

Nityananda surrendered His life to the owner of His life!! He no longer tried to move while He was on the lap of His Lord!

Nityananda Prabhu floated in the waters of Lord Caitanya’s love! Just like Laksmana remained in the lap of Lord Rama after being hit by the shakti shila arrow.

So Lord Nityananda, He was hit by the arrow of pure love of Krsna, and therefore He lost His consciousness. Nityananda was on the lap of Lord Gauracandra and Gauracandra began to cry! So Laksmana was hit by the shakti shila arrow and held by Lord Ramacandra. Lord Nityananda was hit by the pure, ecstatic love of Krsna, and that acted as the arrow! So He became motionless and overwhelmed with ecstatic love!

So the loving, ecstatic happiness that the two exchanged, was similar to what Rama and Laksmana exchanged.

There is no comparison to the affection between Gauracandra and Nityananda Prabhu, other than that which is found between Sri Rama and Laksmana.

Uluuuuuu…. Haribol! Haribol! Hari dhwani! Ulu dhwani!

Lord Nityananda regained His external consciousness after some time and all the devotees started to give out Hari dhwani, jaya dhwani, chanting Haribol and chanting ulu dhwani! Uluuuuuu Haribol! Haribol! Haribol! Wi Nitai! Wi Gaur! Wi Nitai Gaur! Wi in Chinese means ‘I love’, right? Wi bhakta! Ha!

You see, on the lap of Viswambhar, Lord Nityananda was situated. So Gadadhar when He saw thus, change in position, reversal of roles, He smiled within! Mone haase! It says, Nityananda kole kore ache Viswambhar – on Nityananda’s lap is Viswambhar! Wrong translation?

So Viswambhar was on the lap of Nityananda.

But the pride of Anantadeva who always holds Visnu, today the pride was smashed. Because the Lord held Him! Lord Nityananda is the source of Anantadeva. So when He was held by Lord Gaura, then this also was the reversal of the role. Usually we see Visnu on Anantadev, but Nityananda who is the source of Lord Ananta, He was held by Viswambhar.

Gadadhar knows the glories of Lord Nityananda. Nityananda Prabhu knows Gadadhar’s mind. So Gadadhar is the most confidential energy of the Lord. Therefore, He knows the wonderful glories of Lord’s servitors and Nityananda Prabhu also, more or less, knows the mind of Gadadhar.

While the devotees were watching Lord Nityananda, their minds became filled with eternal bliss! Nityanandamai! Nityananda means eternal bliss! So Nityanandamai is filled with eternal bliss! Jai Nitai! How many more verses?

Nityananda Prabhu and Gauracandra, gazed at each other! They didn’t say anything! But as They watched each other, tears flowed from Their eyes! So are there any questions? Questions about the verses today? Anyway, there are no other questions or answers?

Question: (yesterday’s question). Hare Krsna Srila Guru maharaj, dandavat pranamas at your divine lotus feet! Happy Sri Nrsimha Caturdasi festival! Please can you describe the Vaijayanti mala or garland, which is also known as the garland of victory, which is offered to Visnu or Krsna and where can we find this flower? Chudamani dasi

Guru maharaj: In the Srimad Bhagavatam 5.25.7: “He wears a golden belt around His waist and a Vaijayanti garland of ever-fresh Tulasi blossoms around His neck.” And there is a reference from Nectar Of Devotion: “Krsna used to put a Vaijayanti garland around His neck. This Vaijayanti garland is made of flowers of at least five different colors. Such a garland was always long enough to touch Krsna’s knees or feet.” From Caitanya Caritamrita Antya Lila 15.66: “Krsna’s yellow garments look exactly like restless lightening in the sky, and the pearl necklace around His neck appears like a line of herons flying below a cloud. Both the peacock feather on His head and His Vaijayanti garland containing flowers of five colors resemble rainbows.” So the Vaijayanti mala is made of five colors of flowers. Five different colors like a rainbow.

So we want to welcome here Dr. Gita Lakshmi devi dasi and her sister, Dr. Usha and her family members who have come from Chennai. I was under their care when I was in Chennai and she did a lot to help me. I am very happy that she is visiting Mayapur. Let us give her a big Haribol welcome! Haribol! Haribol! Haribol!
