Guru Maharaj: I don’t know what is particularly disturbing your japa. It is hard for me to say specifically what the solution is. So if the problem is that something comes up in your mind, that you have to do this or you have to do that in your day to day, since I was a temple manager, that was the problem I would face. I had a little notebook and would make a note. Then I would go back to chanting. But if you cannot sit in one place, our Parama Guru, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Saraswati Ṭhākura, he used to walk and chant. Some people chant, they cannot concentrate, they fall asleep. So then, you need to chant faster. Or sometimes, you don’t have any taste, so then you chant the Pañca Tattva mantra, or you change the tune. So somehow or another you should concentrate.
