Paramananda Madhavam Sri Caitanya Isvaram

Today, Sunday, is a special day of celebration of Jagannath, Baladeva and Subadra. Today, Jagannath, Baladeva and Subadra have come to their aunt’s house in Gundica. Three four days have passed, this places has been transformed to Vrndavana! Now all of you are Brajawasis! Haribol! Haribol! Jagannathdev resides in Nilacala. When the Ratha Yatra takes place, He goes to Sundaracala. That is Vrndavana. He does yatra from Dwaraka to Vrndavana. And here Radha and Krsna got united. That is why we are celebrating the festival of happiness with Jagannathdev. We have Jagannathdev’s maha prasadam. And chant the Holy name and do kirtan. Do various services to the Lord and read the teachings of the Lord in the form of Gita and Bhagavatam. This was Caitanyadev’s instruction. Caitanyadev is the incarnation of Lord Krsna as His devotee. He is Sri Krsna, but in the mood of Radha and Her color. Sri Krsna Caitanya Radha Krsna nahi anya. Balarama hoilo Nitai. Haribol! Nitai Gaur! Nitai Gaur! Nitaiiiiiiii Gaur! Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu appeared in Navadvip dhama and Sri Nityananda Prabhu appeared in Birbhum district in Ekacakra village. Some call it Bircandrapur. These two, Nitai Gaur have come – Krsna Balarama. And They have come to deliver the people of this Kali yuga. In Navadvip dhama there are nine islands. Each one of the islands is associated with one branch of devotion or bhakti. Sravanam, kirtanam, smaranam, vandanam – these four services we were discussing the past two days. Today we will discuss pada sevanam and arcanam. We do various services for Lord Jagannath, Baladeva and Subadra. We pull their Rathas, Hare Krsna chanting and this way we do Their pada seva, service to Their lotus feet. Today many devotees, about 150, have taken initiation. This way, they have surrendered, atma nivedanam. This way in various ways we offer service unto the lotus feet of the Lord. You are hearing and watching this cultural program which is about Lord Krsna. This way, you are serving Lord Krsna. Now, if we do various services like this, our lives will be blessed. When we do mundane work, we get some reward like money for it. That is not love. We work and we get the reward. If we do not work, we will not get money. This is not a relationship of love; it is a business. But we serve the Lord with devotion, bhakti. We pull the ratha, you saw so many youths were dancing in front of the Lord. This way, in various ways, the Lord is served. The way devotees have set up this big pandal and arranged this festival, they are doing pada sevanam. To distribute the prasadam, to cook, there are so many services. Also, the service of the deities, arcanam. The deity form of the Lord is non-different from the Lord. If someone feels that this form is made of wood or stone, then that is demonic thought. These deity forms are non-different from the Lord. Arca avatar they are called. Because we cannot see the Lord, He comes down in the Arca avatar form. The initiated devotees offer the Lord and eat prasadam every day. They offer arati. They offer abhisekam, pushpanjali and offer bhoga to the Lord. That is why, many devotees are cooking, pujaris are offering flowers to the Lord. This way there is an opportunity to offer arcanam to the Lord. This way we can touch the Lord, we can serve the Lord and get His blessings. And we can get the prasadam of the Lord. This is Jagannathdev’s special mercy, His blessing, that Their hands will never get dry! All the time 56 types of bhoga are offered to Him – chappan bhoga. He washes His hands and then the next bhoga and then the next! This prasadam you all will get. Haribol! Haribol! Haribol! The Bhagavad-gita says that by serving the Lord, by partaking the remnants of the food offered to Him as prasadam, we are absolved of all sins. This way all of you have Krsna prasadam, Jagannath’s prasadam. Even if we get a little prasadam, the work is done! But here there is plenty of prasadam. One side khicri, one side sweets, various types of prasadam. Haribol! Haribol! This is maha tapasya, great sacrifice, taking Krsna prasadam! Can you all do this sacrifice? Ha! This path of bhakti is a prayer. Locanadas Thakur says, parama korno pahu dui jana Nitai Gauracandra. Saba avatara saro siromani kevala ananda kanda. The path that Caitanyadev has shown is just bliss, ananda kanda! Taking the name of Krsna, dancing for Krsna and eating Krsna prasadam, hearing about Krsna, these festivals also, they are all blissful. If one goes on holiday, their friends ask, what did you do? Oh, I ate in celebration, I sang, I danced and I had great bliss! The friend said, oh, that seems like you had a great holiday! But this is our path of self-realization, path of bhakti yoga. Taking the name of Krsna, dancing for Krsna, service to Krsna and taking Krsna prasadam, what is the problem to do this? Why is everyone not doing this? This service to Krsna gives us so much happiness! Anander sima nai, Anander sima nai, Anander sima nai. Nirananda dure jai, niraananda dure jai. This happiness has no limit. But people are not doing service to the Lord and are entangled with so many mundane activities. And therefore stay in various sorrows and problems. Yesterday I had said that there was a new devotee who had not taken initiation yet, belonging to an Indian family but living in the United States of America. He had come to Mayapur to do some filming. He felt sick and the doctor said, he had cancer, blood cancer, leukemia. I had requested all to pray for him yesterday. You all chanted Hare Krsna for him. I heard that yesterday night, which is our day, he passed away, left his body. He was very peaceful, in consciousness of Krsna Balarama and heard the Hare Krsna chanting. I said that in Kali yuga there is no surety that father leaves the body first and then the son. But if we are in Krsna consciousness, then we could go back to Krsna. All of you please pray for him that he has an auspicious travel to Krsna. Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. When I became a devotee, my mother came running to the temple. She said, why is it necessary for you to become a devotee now? When you are old, you can become one. I said, “how many days will I live?” Hearing this my mother started crying and said, no mother would want to say, how long her child would live. I told her, “if I died one or two years later, then what will happen? That is why I need to do service to Krsna from right now!” So grihe thako bone thako sada Hari bole dako. Whether you are at home or in the forest always chant the names of Lord Hari. This way, all the time, we should chant the name of Krsna. Bhajo bhajo bhai Caitanya Nitai sudrada bisvasa kori, visaya chadiya sei rase majiya mukhe bole Hari Hari! All the time chant Krsna’s names and we will taste this divine mellow. In serving Lord Krsna, we experience a kind of bliss! Caitanyadev said, when will it be that tears will flow from My eyes, when will My throat get choked up, when will hairs stand on end? These are asta satvika bhava – the eight fold ecstatic symptoms, devotees experience in the service of the Lord. This bliss has no limit. But we are devoid of this bliss. We are busy with these petty material things. There are four principles of religion – dharma, arta, kama and moksa. And the fifth principle is Bhakti Prema. But the ordinary man is attached to two principles – and want two things – arta and kama. They don’t think about dharma, moksa and Prema. After the second world war, one sect of politicians said, why do you all believe in God? Who is God, tell us? Will He give you bread? Tell God, God please give me bread. Did any of you get it? Come to us. Oh, politician please give me bread! I will give bread. That is why we are greater than God. So such rascals escaped, talking in colloquial language! Now they have been hit. When the Lord takes care to feed the ant, why won’t the humans be fed? Elephants get to eat, why not humans? Among humans, many people hoard quite a few things. When the prices would rise, in America they would buy butter etc and then increase the price. And things which were cheap were thrown into the sea. Here people are dying from hunger and there they are throwing things in the sea to keep the prices of commodities high! Many countries, not only one country I want to discuss. So this way many countries like this they are creating an imbalance in the economy. Actually, the earth has enough food, that all the people can get to eat. But some people hoard things, and that is why people are dying of hunger in other places. We want that everyone chant the name of Krsna, and realize that everything is the property of the Lord. Jagannath, Jagat Nath, the Lord of the universe, He is the owner of the universe. He wants that everyone should get to eat. But some people just to keep the prices of commodities high in the market, hoard. This is not the Lord’s fault. This is the fault in the way we conduct ourselves. There is enough food available. Now it is required for all of us therefore to chant the name of Krsna and taste the Holy name. I am very happy that you have all come, and hope that you will all be happy in this festival of Jagannath, Baladeva and Subadra. The Lord has come in His arca vigraha form, the Lord Himself has come down to give all of you mercy! We ordinarily go to the temple to see the Lord but here the Lord Jagannath, has come down Himself in this maidan to give you all mercy! May Lord Jagannath give His mercy! Jagannath dev ki jai! Baladeva ki jai! Subadra mahararani ki jai! Nitai Gauranga! Nitai Gauranga! Nitai Gauranga! Nitai Gauranga! Nitai Gauranga! Nitai Gaura Haribol! Haribol! Haribol!
