Paramananda Madhavam Sri Caitanya Isvaram

Srila Prabhupada was saying, that the way we could show how much we love him, how much we appreciate him, is by how well we cooperate together. That we have disciples of various gurus in Malaysia – Bhakti Vrajendra Nandana Swami, Jarananda Swami, Nrsimha Swami and Bhakti Caitanya Swami and others. So, that everybody is working together, that is a very good sign. We want to please Srila Prabhupada. And he said we could please him, by cooperating together. So we also have extended the preaching around Malaysia in the past decades. I remember when I came in the 1980s, there were very few devotees in ISKCON. At that time the congregation and the few devotees we had, stuck by ISKCON and we were able to save the society. And gradually we increased the devotees. Now we have some more than twenty branches, we have namahattas, and we have the temple in Sebarang Jaya, and we also have a temple here. I was thinking that Caitanya Mahaprabhu and His followers were preaching that, whether one is a grihasta or whether one is in a vairagi ashram, everyone should chant Hare Krsna. Grihe thako bone thako sada Hari bole dako. So most of our branches in Malaysia are run by grihastas. But at least, there are two temples here in Kuala Lumpur and TODU, Sebarang Jaya, we have grihastas and sanyasis and brahmacharis cooperating together. So in many places they see the other way, that they have temples with brahmacaris, and they also include the grihastas. But here in Malaysia, we have the opposite, we have many branches which are grihastas, but at least two temples, we have ashrams for the renounced people. And so we want to have cooperation between the grihastas and the brahmacaris. Some of the grihastas become vanaprasthas, and the final ashram stage of vanaprasta, they also may live in the temple, leaving their wives. In ISKCON, unless the wife agrees, no one can take sanyas. But in the final stage of life, someone may want to take sanyas. Someone goes from brahmacari to sanyas. So they need a place also to stay. They can’t go to the forest! Ha! Although it is grihe thako bone thako, brahmacari cannot go to the bone, forest! Ha! They have to stay in the ashram. In Malaysia, we also have this majority of people who become grihastas. And they are doing wonderful service! But if someone wants to be a brahmacari for sometime, we want to facilitate that also. Loka Swami was 8 years brahmacari and then became a grihasta. So he is a major donor. So we appreciate that kind of service attitude. Now I see that some of our men, some of our ladies, people do a lot of different service. You see, being initiated, Srila Prabhupada said, it is just the birth. After that one has to learn how to practice devotional service. The culture of the vaisnava is some system, how you deal with each other. We should not criticize each other, we should avoid any kind of dirty politics, we should respect all others and not expect any respect for ourselves. This is Lord Caitanya’s teaching, in the third verse of the Siksastakam. So I am very grateful to all the devotees who are demonstrating this vaisnava culture. We have to function as a society in Malaysia. So we have a constitution. But in the constitution it doesn’t mention Krsna prema. It doesn’t mention vaisnava aparadh. Those are the finer points of vaisnava culture. Constitution doesn’t mention guru disciple relationship. But some people, show this constitution as if it is the absolute truth! But somehow we try to adapt to the laws of Malaysia. It doesn’t mean we should not practice the vaisnava culture. We want to develop the complete perfection. We need to avoid the ten offences ot the holy name. We need to develop our affection for Krsna. So, we all know how great a devotee Saci mata was. But Lord Caitanya said I cannot give Saci mata Krsna prema blessing! Because she has offended Advaita Gosain! No, no, no, Illai Illai! No, no! All the devotees said, she carried You in your womb, she served You, she is so great! “I know, she committed vaisnava aparadh, I cannot give her Krsna prema!” What was the aparadh? Sometimes her other son, Viswarupa, He delayed coming home for lunch. And she thought, because of the influence of Advaita Gosain, he is going to make my son into a sanyasi. But somewhere, that thought process was a little offensive. She did not go to the Facebook, What’s app group, she just thought! She just said! But Lord Caitanya said, “I cannot give her love of Godhead Just a minor offence. So then all the devotees said, please, how can she get love of Godhead? He said, “well, Advaita Gosain has to forgive her.” So they all went to Advaita’s house, Lord Caitanya went, Saci Mata, all the devotees. So Advaita Gosain asked, why are all the devotees here? And they said, well, Saci mata offended You and so Lord Caitanya won’t give her the blessing of Krsna prema. Advaita stood up and said, me, I am like a worm! Saci mata is such a great devotee and He started to glorify Saci mata. Then He glorified and glorified, glorified, peshinaar (said in Tamil)! Then He fainted. He was so ecstatic glorifying mother Saci, that He fainted. Then Lord Caitanya said, He is not going to forgive you! Ha! He doesn’t accept that you offended Him. Take the dust from His lotus feet and put it on your head, and then you will be forgiven. So Saci mata took the dust from Advaita Gosain’s lotus feet and put it on her head. And immediately Lord Caitanya blessed her with Krsna prema! Haribol! Haribol!

So I hope that everybody here can develop Krsna prema. I appreciate all the devotees here; I love the devotees. That is my problem! In 1989 I was knifed in Madrid airport. And the doctor that operated on me, said that they missed my carotid artery by one millimeter! Then I asked the doctor here if they cut the carotid artery, what chance you have to live? Even they cut my jugular vein, they cut my throat. And at that time I told the hospital that I was a vegetarian, that I didn’t not take fish, egg, onion or garlic. But people were so spiteful I don’t want to say, that they put chicken in my diet. I found out because the chicken bone stuck in the pipe breathing through my nose. One person came from Malaysia, to serve me. And every day he cooked for me, and he threw the hospital food in the toilet and he gave me food. Otherwise I couldn’t have survived. That person who came from Malaysia is, Simheswara das. So I appreciate him very much! At the same time I appreciate, all the other devotees. I want to see everyone cooperate together. And to expand the Krsna consciousness movement more and more. So I am supposed to meet different yatras and different departments of the Kuala Lumpur temple. So I don’t want to speak too long. Hare Krsna!
