Audio started abruptly

So then they all went out looking for this great personality. But they could not find Him. So to make the long story short, Lord Caitanya eventually accepted to go out and said, “I can find Him.” Because God cannot be found by looking for Him, He has to reveal Himself. Then Lord Caitanya took His sankirtan party and went to the house of Nandan Acarya. There He found Lord Nityananda. Lord Nityananda knew that here is the Lord of My life! Lord Caitanya called out “Oh Nitai!” And Lord Nityananda called out “Oh, Gauranga! Nitai! Gauranga! Nitai! Gauranga! Nitai! Gauranga! Nitai! Gauranga! Translate it!! So in this way the two met each other. But in order to show the devotees the actual position of Lord Nityananda, Lord Caitanya told the sankirtan singer to chant the particular glories of Lord Krsna in Vrndavana. And Lord Nityananda jumped high in the air and His hair was standing on end! Tears were flowing were flowing from His eyes. He chanted so loudly that people thought their ear drums would burst! HARE KRSNA HARE KRSNA! And that sound went through the whole universe! Lord Nityananda, He fainted and fell on the ground hearing the glories of Lord Krsna. Gadadhara prabhu being the internal energy of the Lord knew the position of Lord Nityananda. Lord Nityananda is the source of all incarnations. He is the source of Anantadeva. Anantadeva would carry the Lord on His coils as a snake. So Maha Visnu and Garbodakasayi Visnu are lying on the coils of Lord Anantadeva. But Lord Caitanya took Lord Nityananda on His lap. So Gadadhara knew that this was the reverse. Lord Anantadeva usually carries the Lord, but this time the Lord was carrying Lord Anantadeva. Most devotees did not realize what was happening. But they knew that something was wonderful. And they began chanting and dancing very ecstatically. So this was the meeting of Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityananda! We want all of you to also realize this ecstatic love that Lord Balarama, Lord Nityananda, has. Lord Nityananda is the first guru. Although He is also the Supreme Personality of Godhead, He is always in a serving mood towards Lord Caitanya. And He was experiencing great ecstasy. Gauranga! Gauranga! Gauranga! Translate that! Ha! Ha! So you are having here the deities of Lord Caitanya and Nityananda Prabhu. By the mercy of Lord Nityananda, we get the mercy of Lord Caitanya. By the mercy of Lord Caitanya we get the mercy of Lord Radha Madanamohan. We also get the mercy of Lord Jagannath, Baladeva and Subhadra. So you are all very, very fortunate. I would like to give a chance since we have time if you have any questions, I will answer them. Any questions? You can also write them down if you don’t want to speak. You can write in Telugu and he will translate. If you write in Hindi, Bengali or Oriya, we can manage, or Assamese!!

Question: Hare Krishna guru maharaj: Good evening gurudev! Not a question. My request is really, could you please bless everybody that they get more bhakti for Lord Krsna!

Guru maharaj: Please Krsna give them lots of bhakti! Lord Nityananda give them bhakti! You are the wholesale trader of bhakti! Nadiya Godrume Nityananda Mahajan.

Question: PAMRO, AGTSP! How could we please you guru maharaj? Your aspiring servant, Jagatarini Vishaka devi dasi

Guru maharaj: I asked this question to Srila Prabhupada. He said, I am very pleased if I see my disciples develop love of Krsna. Maybe that is a future goal, but we should try for that. And I am very pleased when I see the devotees trying very hard to spread the sankirtan movement of Lord Caitanya. Srila Prabhupada said that you can show how much you love me by showing how well you can cooperate with each other. So when devotees cooperate together to serve Krsna and to spread Krsna consciousness, naturally we are very pleased.

Question: What is the importance of initiation and after initiation how do we serve guru and Krsna? Krishnakumari Gupta

Guru maharaj: Initiation is the beginning of our spiritual life. We shouldn’t expect that someone after initiation is very advanced. Initiation is called the spiritual birth. So if you want to remain unborn, then don’t take initiation. But if you want to be born, then it is important to take initiation. It connects you with the guru parampara. It also connects you with the diksha guru. So before initiation everything is a practice. After initiation, you have taken the vows and it is very serious. You take the vow to chant 16 rounds minimum, and to follow the four regulative principles, and for my disciples I also have them take a vow that they will help me fulfill Srila Prabhupada’s instructions. Usually this is enough. But sometimes I may give some special advice or special instruction to some devotee. So one should try to fulfill that.

Question: How Lord Caitanya’s movement will go forward for the next ten thousand years?

Guru maharaj: According to the Brahma Vaivarta purnana all the sacred rivers approached Krsna before His departure that He may take them back. The Ganges took the position as the spokesperson for all the thirthas and holy rivers. So Krsna smiled and He said, let the sinful people bathe in your waters for five thousand years. And then I will send some devotee who will spread Krsna consciousness and the chanting of My holy names all over the world, as He will usher in a Golden Age. Chanting of My holy name and devotional service will spread all over the world! Haribol! Haribol! This period will last for ten thousand years. So then Lord Krsna said, after ten thousand years, the dark Kali will start. And you, the holy rivers can go underground like the Saraswati. So I saw when I first came to India that someone had calculated that kali yuga was 5thousand 17 or something like that years old. It corresponded with the year Srila Prabhupada went to the west. Now is the sun rising of the Golden Age. But you should do whatever you can to hurry it up! Take this opportunity to bring in quickly the Golden Age. Haribol! Nitai Gaur!

Question: Hare Krsna guru maharaj: When we are preaching we feel very low when we do the program and not very many people come? How do we keep the mood of preaching always high? Your servant, Madhusmita Induleka devi dasi.

Guru maharaj: Thank you Madhusmita Indulekha devi dasi. You see someone looked through the window when Srila Prabhupada started preaching in New York in the store front in Matchless Gifts. He saw Prabhupada waving his hands and speaking very emphatically. He thought there must be a big crowd there. He opened the door and went in. But there was no one there! NO ONE! ONLY PRABHUPADA! Prabhupada, there is no one here! No, Prabhupada said. There is Narada muni, so many different devas. When you are doing outreach program don’t think oh, only a few people came. All the devas, all the great souls, they are present to watch you preach! Prabhupada, he preached like that, but he attracted so many souls to come. Years ago when we came to the Hyderabad temple, few people, 20-30 people would come for the class. Look how many people are here now! So we should be determined to keep spreading the message and more and more people will understand that we are very sincere. We should not be attached to the fruits of our work. We should think how we can improve, how we can bring more people, we should not be discouraged. Maybe some years ago Radheyshyam prabhu had a few students, but in Mayapur recently he brought 900 students! One more question. Quick! Quick! After this no more!

Question: Hare Krsna guru maharaj. When we are trying to preach Krsna consciousness to others, in the process there is a chance that we get affected by recognition and a devotee gets caught in that position of fame and gets envious of other devotees. How should one do preaching without falling in these traps?

Guru maharaj: Lord Caitanya taught us that we should take out the weeds in our devotional service. Nisidachar, kuti nati, jiva himsa, labh, puja, pratishastasha joto upashako golo. Breaking the regulative principles, political dealings, being envious against others, wanting profit for what we are doing in devotional service, and wanting to be respected for our devotional service, wanting a position for our devotional service. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura said in his book Vaisnava ke? He said that if one desires to get respect and position for their devotional service, and pratishta or desire for position is like the stool of a pig. So the pig eats stool. The stool of a pig must be like stool of stool! We want to please guru and Krsna, we don’t want anything material in exchange. But one being a devotee, automatically gets pratista without desiring, without wanting. Like Prahlad maharaj he was criticized by his father, he was attempted to be killed by his father. Lord Nrsimhadeva came and saved him. And he was like an orphan but Nrsimhadeva became like his father and was accompanying him to various places. So as Yoga Nrsimhadeva, Nrsimhadeva is teaching Prahlada, how to meditate. So many different places, Ahobilam in Andhra Pradesh, Lord Nrsimhadeva was very kind to Prahlad. Naturally he got pratista. But he didn’t want it. So being a devotee you get respect, sometimes. Sometimes you do not get respect. When I first came to India, people would say horrible things to me. Hare Krsna Hare Rama dam maro dam! I went asking what does that mean? They are saying that you chant Hare Krsna and you smoke marijuana. We don’t smoke cigarettes or do any type of intoxication. So some people criticize and some people appreciate. We do our service to please guru and Krsna. Hare Krsna!

So there is a suggestion that I answer the questions that you gave on future days. I won’t keep you up too late. We have some prasadam for you.
