Lord Gauranga leads the devotees to the house of Nandan Acarya continues.
I said I will take prasadam at 6.30 and give class at 7.30. But today somehow I didn’t have the darshan earlier. So I went down and had darshan and that is why I am late. What time is it? We started by 8. Alright, so we will continue.

The Lord Gaura, smiling, told to His devotees, listen, to a wonderful story, Sripad Nityananda Avadoot has come here!

Who knows how to describe His glories? We must have performed many pious activities, that today we are going to see His lotus feet! Haribol! Nitai Prabhu!

Caitanya Mangal, Madhya Kanda:

Hey, Rama, Narayana, Murari, Mukunda! Tell Me quickly, who knows the answer to this question? Where is Nityananda Prabhu?

When The Lord gave this command, they immediately went searching in the southern part of the city.

They looked but they could not find Him. So they returned to Lord Gauranga’s lotus feet.

They folded their hands, they told in front of the Lord, we looked but we could not find Him!

Again the Lord Gaura said, listen all of you, please listen. Please look in your own homes!

On Lord Gauranga’s order, everyone went quickly to their own homes.

At dusk, after completing their evening duties, they again met before the Lord, coming together.

As the Lord was walking on the path, the Lord saw Murari and called out to him. Murari! Didn’t you find the avadoot? After saying this Lord Gauranga gently smiled. Nityananda avadoot is certainly in the house of Nandan Acarya. I will go there. Let us go there!

Hearing these words of Lord Caitanya, the devotees became very joyful. They went with the Lord chanting Jai! Jai! Jai! Jai! Ulu dhwani, Hari dhwani! Haribol! Haribol! Hariiiibol! Haribol! Haribol!

Thus ends the chapter entitled Lord Gauranga leads the devotees to the house of Nandan Acarya.

Continue. What time is it?

So any questions? We would like to welcome back Iksvaku prabhu home, and his good wife! Haribol! Acintya Nitai!

Question: HK dear guru maharaj, Lord Caitanya was 7 feet tall and we see that the people in that time were a bit taller than people today. Can we say that most of them were eternal associates of the Lord or very fortunate people. Can we say they were all taller like Lord Caitanya?

Guru maharaj: We know Lord Caitanya was taller than most people. Lord Nityananda was almost as tall as Lord Caitanya. In our deities downstairs, we have Lord Caitanya as 7 feet and Lord Nityananda is 6 feet 9 inches. The other deities, we didn’t know exactly what their height was – Sitanath, Gadadhar, Srivas – so we put them as 6 feet, 6.3. But we don’t really know. Srila Prabhupada was indicating that Lord Caitanya was much taller than most of the people. He said that Krsna was 5 feet 10 and Radharani 5 feet 6 and the gopis 5 feet 4. Actually in Dvapara yuga people were taller. This is just for us to understand their relative size but when Lord Nityananda saw Sridham, Sridham was very big, although he was a small child eternally. He asked Nityananda, why are You so small? Ha! Ha! So how big he must have been! So Lord Nityananda said this is Kali yuga, everybody is short and he was almost 7 feet tall. Ha! So for us going around the Govardhan is like 26 km, it is a major race, marathon! But for the cowherd boys of Krsna, no big deal! They run around Govardhan!

Question: Iswari Lalita devi dasi: Hare Krsna guru maharaj. PAMRO. Gurudev. Who is Nandan Acarya in Krsna lila? Why did Lord Gauranga, Lord Nityananda and Advaita Acarya select Nandan Acarya’s house particularly to hide Themselves in Their pastimes?

Guru maharaj: Iswari Lalita devi dasi, hmmmm. Lord Caitanya hid in Nandan Acarya’s house. So did Nityananda Prabhu. And so did Advaita Gosain. It says that Nandan Acarya is the 17th branch of the Caitanya tree but what he was in Krsna lila is not in Prabhupada’s books. May be in the Gaura Ganadesh Dipika it is mentioned. I don’t have that book handy. I will look it up later.

Question: Iswari Madhavi devi dasi: Did Nandan Acarya know who Lord Nityananda was when He was in his house?

Guru maharaj: When we read the Caitanya Bhagavat version of this lila – they referred to the Caitanya Mangal version today. But in the Caitanya Bhagavat version it said that Nandan Acarya saw Lord Nityananda as a great soul. And he saw Him with many transcendental qualities. I think it mentioned that he saw the qualities of Sankarsana in Nityananda. But I don’t think he knew exactly what Nityananda was but he had some idea.

Did Madhavi Kirti have a question?

Any other question?

OK. Alright! Group photo!

Happy Mohini Ekadasi! This Ekadasi, the history of this Ekadasi was, that a very pious man had five sons. And one of the sons was very sinful. When he was walking down the street with his arm around a known prostitute, his father kicked him out of the house. And he was arrested by the police, but then they found that he was the son of this pious vaisnava, so they let him go. This happened many times. Finally, he was arrested and kept in jail. The father bailed him out. Then he went to the forest and with his bow and arrows he killed animals. He was doing all kinds of sinful acts. He was very hungry and he was wondering why he had come to such a horrible condition. Then he stumbled across the ashram of a famous rishi, who had just come from the Ganges. The water was dripping from his hair and body. Somehow a few drops fell on this sinful person, and that purified him! So he offered his obeisances and prayed to the rishi, how can I get forgiven for all the sins I did? What can I do as an atonement? I was really very sinful. The rishi told him to observe this Ekadasi, and that would free him from all the sinful acts, reactions. So then he observed this Ekadasi, and he got purified and he went back to Godhead! So this Ekadasi is known as very powerful, to purify one of all sins. And if one even hears the glories of this Ekadasi, it is more than giving 1000 cows in charity. So I just gave them a lot of pious activities! There is a question here. Last question.

Question: PAMRO. When devotees pray in the line of mama janmani janmananisware – let me serve you birth after birth – I was wondering this maya’s world is filled with risks that could distract one from pure service. Please reveal the mood behind this prayer? Your servant, Lalitangi Radha devi dasi.

Guru maharaj: The mood is that as long as we are in this service of vaisnavas, guru and Govinda, or Gauranga, that we will be free from the contamination of maya. So we don’t mind going to the spiritual world, as long as we can serve the Lord there. But for being in that service – we can do anything, for being in the service of the Lord. Even take birth again and again. We want the service of the Lord. That is where the real nectar is. Haribol!
