Jayapataka Swami: So there are karmis, gyanis, yogis, ascetics and there are bhakti yogis. So associating with gyanis and mayawadis, yogis, this is a break in our devotional service. We don’t want to go to associate with them. We may go to give them association. Like Srila Prabhupada went to the Kumbha Mela, it was not particularly interested to take the association of all these mayawadis. In fact one of the impersonalists was riding on an elephant in a big procession and babas were dancing in front of him, and he was said to be a lac and eight, some Jagatguru. So Srila Prabhupada said we would take Radha Krsna on the elephant and walk in front! We wouldn’t ride on the elephant! So what Srila Prabhupada meant that in Kumbha mela, there were many mayawadis there. But he didn’t go and listen to mayawadis speaking. He went there, he appreciated they are also transcendentalists, but he went there to give association. Because of his association many people got a chance to take devotional service. Mayawadis they want to merge in the brahma jyoti, they want to become one with God but the devotees want to render service to the Lord.
