Jayapataka Swami: More or less, yes. He doesn’t become an animal, He remains as the Supreme Lord, but He has different forms like Matsya as fish, Kurma as tortoise, Nrsimha half-man half-lion, and Varahadeva as boar. Like that He comes in different forms and Hayagriva as a horse, but He remains the Supreme Lord, but He takes different forms. So we believe that He has unlimited forms. We sing in the Damodara month, ananta rupam, sacidananda ananta rupam. So the Lord has unlimited forms. In Malaysia they passed a law that everyone has to learn the local language of Malaysia. So in the local language the name for God is called Allah. Since the majority of the people there are following the Islamic religion. So the Bible they translated God as Allah, so some Muslims protested that they shouldn’t use the word Allah in the Bible! But that was the law they made. Then someone said if we follow the Hindu principle that God has unlimited names! Ha! Ha! Ha! We won’t have this problem! So we respect all religions, but in different religions they have different names. So what Srila Prabhupada said, we want people to chant the holy name of God. We chant Hare Krsna Hare Rama. But if people don’t like to chant that they can chant any bona fide name mentioned in the revealed scriptures. Jehovah, Allah, or whatever.
