Jayapataka Swami: The Vedas mention about bhakti-yoga! Of course! They mention it. The twelfth chapter of Bhagavad-gita is all about bhakti-yoga. So throughout the Vedas bhakti-yoga is mentioned, but the jnana yogis they don’t read the bhakti-yoga section. The astanga yogis they do not read the bhakti-yoga section. It is there! That is why when we say the bhakti-yoga to the other yogis, they are amazed, is this from the Vedas? They know nothing! They don’t read that part, but it is there. Read the whole chapter, the twelfth chapter of the Bhagavad-gita, it is all about bhakti-yoga. And in so many places that bhakti-yoga is mentioned. Why do you think it is not mentioned in the Vedas?
Devotee: Because the Vedas in India, what I learnt that the Vedas are considered just the four Vedas, Mahabharata – Bhagavad-gita is part of the Mahabharata – which is considered the fifth Veda. But it is not exactly in the line.
Jayapataka Swami: In the Rig Veda it says ‘om krishno vai sac-cid-ananda-ghanaha krishna adi-purushaha krishnaha purushottamaha.’ And in the Brahma Samhita it says a similar thing, but in the Rig Veda it is there, it is not that it is not there!
