My dear devotees and well wishers,

Please accept my blessings. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Today is the auspicious day of Aksaya Trtiya. It is a good day to make donations.

If I were in Mayapur, I would offer lamps to the deities, circumambulate Tulasi, take bath in Ganga water, circumambulate the deities. Devotees and well wishers can circumambulate Tulasi four times for themselves and four times offering the results to me. Devotees should meticulously avoid breaking any of the regulative principles. Those who do one or more of these devotional services should “like” this message.

Matsya puran chapter 65 states the following – The Lord says that this is the trtiya that grants all desires. When one has given in charity, in oblations or in japa, all results are inexhaustible. In the month of vaisakha on sukla paksa, on the third tithi, those who engage in fasting, the result of all pious activities attain inexhaustibility. It becomes even more worshipable specifically when it is endowed with the naksatra krtika. Then all charity, oblations, and japa attain results that are inexhaustible. All born from aksaya will have inexhaustible pious result. Lord Visnu is worshipped by akshata, unbroken seeds, and by that activity, this tithi is also know as aksaya. After offering the aksayas to Visnu and human beings are bathed with it, they also attain inexhaustible piety. Having offered to vipras when they are mixed with grain and mixed with rice, that great fortunate souls will attain inexhaustible results. Even if one trtiya is followed, he will obtain the results of all the trtiyas. With upavasa, if one worships Lord Janardana on this trtiya, he attains the results of a Rajasuya Yajna and he attains the highest goal.

In Jagannath puri, candana yatra begins from today. Also, candana yatra is done to Nrisimhadeva in Simhacalam.

The Ratha chariots for Jagannath Ratha Yatra begin to be constructed in Puri from today.

Your well wisher always,

Jayapataka Swami
