Dear Jayapataka Maharaja,

Please accept my respectful obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Upon this auspicious celebration of your appearance in this world, I would like to inform you that for the past few months I have been meditating on your compassion.

Praying to our eternal father Srila Prabhupada, I strive to fathom the ocean of compassion that drives you onward, in all conditions of life.

Materially, you are a very different person from me.

But shadowy material characteristics matter for little in the bright light of transcendence.

The nectar of bhakti compassion renders all else inconsequential, peripheral.

Hence, the preoccupation of my meditation on your spiritual vitality and modus operandi.

Yours is not warm fuzzy sentiment but the authorized divine outflow of Mahaprabhu’s mercy, coming through parampara.

In seeking to comprehend the core compassion of such a Vaishnava, who has been tested through thick and thin, I am sure I will benefit immeasurably.

your servant,
Devamrita Swami
