My Dear Vaishnavas,
Please accept my Pranams or Best Wishes as appropriate.
All Glories To Srila Prabhupada!
Camp Home base Sri Mayapur Dham.

Yesterday we had a special ceremony to felicitate the Sankirtan parties and to encourage all the other devotees to join hands for the December book marathon in December. There was a special altar with all books of Srila Prabhupada’s. Bhagavat Gitas, Srimad Bhagavtam sets and Chaitanya Charitamrita sets. It was a wonderful sight. Different devotees spoke on the occasion. Two new buses were inaugurated and the deity of Srila Prabhupada came and sat in each bus.

Also the rear door of the bus has a special hydraulic system. By pushing a button, the rear door will open upwards,so showing the deities and displaying the books. So after Srila Prabhupada inaugurated the Sankirtan Vehicles there was an assembly of devotees who discussed about the importance of Book Distribution. His Holiness Bhakti Purushottama Swami told how married ladies in Bengal and in India in general, wear ornaments and nice dress when the husband is alive. But when the husband leaves this world, she becomes a widow then she doesn’t wear ornaments or wear any fancy cloths. So he was stating that those temples which have book distribution are like a wife with husband. Those temples which have no book distribution is like widows. We don’t want to be widow temples. It is an interesting comparison.

Like that, Nareshwar prabhu, he pledged 1000 Gitas and then some other devotee pledged 3000 Gitas. I was also speaking on the occasion, the History of how Mayapur book distribution started and how the books are the order of Lord Chaitanya, to distribute. He ordered three things, “Bolo Krishna” – Chant Hare Krishna, “Bhajo Krishna” serve Lord Krishna, “Karo Krishna Siksha” study and distribute Krishna’s books. So when we cut the ribbon, they did arthik for the books. All glories to transcendental book distribution! And all our Bhakti Vrikshas, Namahattas, Temples, Councillor groups, individual members to distribute as many books as possible. The devotees they also took Sankalpa to dedicate themselves to distribute Srila Prabhupada’s books.

Your Well wisher Always,
Jayapataka Swami.
